Olá a todos! Hoje trago-vos alguns pormenores das decorações cá de casa. Montar a árvore de Natal é a minha tarefa da época, e nenhum ano é igual ao anterior (pelo menos assim tento!). Este ano, depois de ver em muitas lojas a utilização de bolas brancas em diferentes combinações, decidi comprá-las para testar com as decorações prateadas que já tinha cá em casa, e voilá! Penso que ficou no meu top 5 de todas as decorações que já fiz nesta árvore. Para além disso, mostro-vos ainda fotografias do presépio que o meu pai monta todos os anos - um conjunto gigante de peças adquirido ao longo de muitos anos - e a minha parte favorita é a cabana, construída pelo meu bisavô. E vocês? O que costumam fazer nas vossas casas? Espero que gostem deste post e vemo-nos no próximo ;)

Hello everyone! Today I bring you some of the details from our Christmas decorations at home. Setting up the Christmas tree is part of my holiday duties, and no tree is never the same as the year before (at least I try to make it that way!). This year I'd been seeing so many white decorations in so many combinations that I decided to buy my own and pair them up with the silver ones I had back at home - and voilá! I think it's on my top 5 Christmas decorations that I've made. Besides the tree, here are some photos of our Christmas Crib decorations that my father put up - a series of pieces bought through the years - and my favorite one is the cabana which was built by my great-grandfather. Miradouro da Pedra Bela

Olá a todos! E de forma a encerrar o capítulo das nossas mini-férias ao Gerês, deixo-vos com a vista maravilhosa que poderão usufruir se subirem até ao Miradouro da Pedra Bela. Infelizmente estavam muitas pessoas e, por isso, não tive muito tempo para poder tirar todas as fotografias que queria. Mesmo assim, decidi partilhar o pouco que captei para vos convencer a incluirem esta magnífica paisagem no vosso roteiro. Espero que tenham gostado da partilha desta nossa aventura por Peneda-Gerês em 48h. Vejo-vos no próximo post! :)

Hello everyone! And to conclude the chapter of our mini-vacations to Gerês, I'll leave you with this wonderful view you can also experience if you go up to Miradouro da Pedra Bela (or "Beautiful Rock Gazibo" if you translate it directly). Unfortunately there were a lot of people who also wanted to enjoy the view so I didn't have enough time to capture everything that I wanted. Hello, Soajo

Olá a todos! E chegamos à nossa segunda paragem do dia: Soajo. Quando tomamos a decisão de ir visitar o Gerês andamos de site em site para perceber o que gostaríamos mesmo de ver, e esta vila ficou sem dúvida no topo das prioridades. Para além da simpatia de todas as pessoas com que nos cruzámos, todos os cantos da vila estão recheados de história bem portuguesa. Conseguem adivinhar o que são estes edificios que tanto fotografei? Chamam-se espigueiros e eram usados para secar o milho, sendo assim elevados para que os roedores não entrassem e estragassem as colheitas. Também tivemos a oportunidade de ouvir o sino (fotografias mais abaixo) a tocar - e não era um sino electrónico como agora é tão comum ouvir! Recomendo vivamente visitarem este cantinho. Espero que gostem e vemo-nos no próximo post! :)

Hello everyone! We finally arrived to our second stop of the day: Soajo. When we decided we wanted to go visit Gerês we went from one site to the other to try and select what we really wanted to see, and this village was one of our top priorities. Besides the people we came across which made us feel very welcome, every corner of this village is filled with portuguese history. Can you guess what the building I photographed so much are for? They're called "espigueiros" and they were used to dry the corn. They were also designed this high so that the rodents couldn't get to the crops and ruin them. We also had the opportunity to hear the bell from the village ring - a real bell, not those electronic ones that we're so used to now. I highly recommend you to visit this village.
