World Press Photo 2017

Olá a todos! Enquanto estava à procura de algo para fazer na última sexta-feira descobri que a exposição do World Press Photo 2017 ia ser exibida bem perto de mim, a começar nesse próprio dia. A exposição vai estar de 28 de Abril a 21 de Maio no Museu Nacional de Etnologia e o bilhete é apenas 3€ (1,5€ com cartão de estudante ou cartão jovem). Não tenho nenhuma fotografia da minha cara no pós-exposição, mas posso-vos dizer que adorei. Os temas são variados: natureza, desporto, vida quotidiana de algumas povoações pouco conhecidas. As fotografias que foram seleccionadas dão a conhecer algumas questões com as quais a sociedade se tem vindo a deparar ao longo destes últimos anos - desde o surto de Zika, aos confrontos na Síria, a crise de refugiados que tentam atravessar o Mediterraneo, entre outros. Algumas imagens, admito, são dificeis de ver, já que retratam a verdade crua, sem filtros ou desfoque. Outras, como as dos pandas, mostram que nem tudo é terrível - são como uma brisa fresca no meio de todas as lágrimas e sangue. Espero que tenham gostado e vemo-nos no próximo post! :)

Hello everyone! While I was searching for something to do last Friday I stumbled upon the World Press Photo 2017 exhibition right near me. The exhibition will be on National Museum of Ethnology from 28th April to 21st May, and the ticket is only 3€ (1,5€ if you have the Youth Card) I don't have any photos of my post-exhibition face but I can tell you that I loved it. The themes are very diverse: nature, sports, the daily life on not so well known small towns. The selected photos present us with some of the issues that society has come across over the last few years, namely the Zika outbreak, the war in Syria, the refugee crisis, ... I admit that some of the photos are hard to see, since they depict the raw, unfiltered truth. Other pictures, like the one with the pandas, show that not everything is terrible, that there's always something good, even if everything is breaking apart. Olá a todos! Hoje trago-vos uma coisa um pouco diferente do meu conteudo normal, mas não resisti em partilhar convosco. Eu e o prazer da leitura temos uma história que já data há muitos anos. Quando era pequena não gostava de ler - não me perguntem porquê mas não gostava de ficar sentada a ler livros durante horas. Um dia a minha mãe, numa de muitas tentativas, comprou-me um livro chamado "A Professia das Pedras" - um livro que mistura mistérios, enigmas e fantasia - e foi aí que tudo começou. Agora não consigo não ter um livro para ler. A fotografia de inicio deste post é do último livro que li e que vivamente recomendo se gostam do género distópico. Mas este livro não é o tema do post de hoje.

Hello everyone! Today I'm bringing you something a bit different than my usual content, but I just couldn't resist sharing with you. Me and the pleasure of reading go way back. When I was little I hated to read - don't ask me why, but I just couldn't find seating for hours reading a bunch of words entertaining. One day, my mother bought me a book called "The Prophecy of the Stones" - a book that mixes fantasy and mystery . and that's when it all began. Now I just can't live without having a book to read. The book on my lap in this first photography was the last one I read and if you like dystopian novels I vividly recommend you to read this one. But today's post isn't about this book

Olá a todos! Hoje vamos andar para trás no tempo, até 2012 para ser mais precisa, para quando vivi umas das maiores aventuras da minha vida. Durante o meu secundário tive a sorte de ser seleccionada para pertencer ao projecto de intercambio Comenius, tendo tido a oportunidade de não só viajar durante duas semanas para a Bulgária, mas também de conhecer pessoas fantásticas que ainda hoje fazem parte da minha vida. Tendo em conta que comprei a minha câmara Nikon em 2015, as fotografias que vos trago hoje não têm a mesma qualidade que normalmente vos apresento mas, como hoje me senti nostálgica decidi partilhar convosco algumas das fotografias que tirei e um pouco destas duas semanas maravilhosas onde encontrei uma segunda casa.

Hello everyone! Today we're going back in time, all the way to 2012, to when I lived one of the biggest adventures of my life. During high-school I had the luck of being selected to partake on an exchange program for two weeks named Comenius, where I got to travel to Bulgaria and meet some amazing people that are still part of my life to this day. Since I only bought my Nikon in 2015, the photographs I'm sharing with you today aren't the usual quality that I normally post, but since I felt a bit nostalgic I decided to put them here and show you a part of this beautiful country.

Olá a todos! Hoje mostro-vos um pouco do meu dia de ontem. Para celebrar os anos do namorado fomos passear, primeiro a Belém (como já é tradição) e posteriormente ao Principe Real e ao miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara onde tirei as fotografias nocturnas. Foi um dia onde tirei mais fotos pessoais do que o género de fotografias que coloco aqui no blogue e, por isso, deixo-vos com uma pequeníssima porção do que tenho gravado na minha câmara para recordar no futuro. Espero que tenham gostado e vemo-nos no próximo post! :)

Hello everyone! Today I bring you a part of my day yesterday. To celebrate my boyfriend's birthday we went for a walk in Belém (as tradition demands) and, at night, to see the beautiful view from the São Pedro de Alcântara viewpoint. It was a day that I took more personal photos rather than the kind of photographs that I post here on the blog and, because of it, I'll leabe you we just a tinny percentage of what I have saved on my memory card. Olá a todos! Sei que ando um bocado desaparecida, mas entrar no mercado de trabalho tem sido uma aventura. Hoje trago-vos um conjunto de fotografias que captei hoje, dia 7 de Abril, no Parque Desportivo do Jamor. O dia estava tão bonito e estava tudo tão colorido que não resisti em fotografar todas as flores que me apareceram - também para finalmente poder celebrar a primavera aqui no blogue convosco! Como está a ser a vossa semana? Já puderam aproveitar este bom tempo? Quero aproveitar este sol magnifico durante o fim-de-semana para tirar mais fotografias... Hello everyone! I know I've been a bit absent but working on my first job as a nurse has drained all my time and energy. Today I bring you some of the photographs that I captures today, 7th April, in a park near my home (and by near I mean 15 minutes by car). The day was so nice and everything was so colorful that I couldn't resist photographing very flower that crossed my path - and this way I can finally celebrate Spring here on the blog with all of you. How's your week going? Is it sunny where you live? I'll try to take advantage of this good weather to take more photos this weekend, but we'll see...
